现在市场上流行的音乐软件基本上都支持WMA格式的音乐.比如千千阙听、酷狗、酷我音乐盒等,包括视频软件也基本上都可以打开,比如暴风影音、迅雷影音等。
Windows Media Audio是微软公司推出的与MP3格式齐名的一种新的音频格式。由于WMA在压缩比和音质方面都超过了MP3，更是远胜于RA(Real Audio)，即使在较低的采样频率下也能产生较好的音质。

WMA可以用于多种格式的编码文件中。应用程序可以使用Windows Media Format SDK进行WMA格式的编码和解码。
一些常见的支持WMA的应用程序包括Windows Media Player、Windows Media Encoder、RealPlayer、Winamp等等。其它一些平台，例如Linux和移动设备中的软硬件也支持此格式。
1、优点
WMA 7之后的WMA支持证书加密，未经许可（即未获得许可证书），即使是非法拷贝到本地，也是无法收听的。同时，微软公司开始时宣称的：同文件比MP3体积小一倍而音质不变，也得到了兑现。
事实上，这个说法，仅仅适用于低比特率的情况，另外，微软公司在WMA 9大幅改进了其引擎，实际上几乎可以在同文件同音质下比MP3体积少1/3左右，因此非常适合用于网络串流媒体及行动装置。
2、缺点
在高位元率的渲染能力低下，同音源的一个320kbps的MP3与比较192kbps的WMA相比，音质和渲染力很容易分别出是前者较优。与MP3相同，WMA也是有损数据压缩的档案格式，对于有更高要求的用户来说WMA并不是一个适合的格式。
（9.0版本支持无损压缩）此外WMA也与MP3一样同为有专利版权的档案格式。支持的装置需要购买使用版权。
wma格式和avi格式，mp4格式是一样的，它是有声音有图片的。但mp3不支持avi。mp4格式的只支持wma。

Director制作AVI播放器
Director 8.5支持多种视频格式，包括常用的MOV和AVI视频格式。本节实例将介绍创建AVI播放器，通过控制按钮，可以对AVI进行视频播放、停止、快进、快退等操作。
AVI播放器制作操作步骤如下：
(1)进入Director 8.5。执行Modify→Movie→Properties命令，在弹出的舞台属性检查器对话框中将电影舞台的大小设置为500×400，将背景颜色设置为白色，如图7-145所示。
(2)按Ctrl+R组合键，导入12张图片，在Cast窗口中显示，如图7-146所示。
(3)按Ctrl+R组合键，在Import窗口导入AVI电影，单击OK按钮，在弹出的Select Format对话框中选择AVI格式，如图7-147所示。
